1938

Hofmann begins to study at Kunstgewerbeschule, Zurich

1946

The General Commercial School of basel acquires Hofmann as an instructor

1948

Opening his own studio in basel, Hofmann begins to work on his stuff there

1956

Yale University gets a professor named Armin Hofmann (ahhhh!)

 

1965

Armin Hofmann writes the "Graphic Design Manual." It will be a part of graphic design curriculum for many years to come.

1967

The undergraduate program for basel's School of Design decides to promote Hofmann to the position of Director

1972

Hofmann becomes the director of Yale's graphic design Summer Program

2008
