Me: Spaghetti!
This is my Italian grandmother's recipe for spaghetti sauce. It has been handed down from my great grandmother, to my grandmother, to my mother, to me, and now to you!
Ingredients:
2 28oz cans Tomato Paste
2 18oz cans Tomato Paste (6 6oz cans)
2 28oz cans Crushed Tomatoes
3ib Sweet Italian Sausage
6 Cloves Garlic
Olive Oil
Preparation:
Cook 3lb sweet Italian sausage (with a little bit of olive oil) for 30 min
Drain some oil, leave a little to cover bottom of pan
Chop 3 cloves garlic
Sautee garlic (until brown)
Add 2 cans (28oz ea.) tomato puree
Add 3 cans water (maybe more to get all out)
Stir
Add 2 cans crushed tomatoes
Add 3 cans water (maybe more to get of the tomatoes out of the can)
Stir
Cover, let boil
Add 30-36oz tomato paste
3 cans water
Cover, let boil (make sure paste is melted)
Add 2 tbsp sugar
Add 8 leaves of basil (shake if basil flakes)
Add sausage and let cook for at least 2 hours on low, stir constantly
